Terms of Service

Effective: 2026-05-12

1. Service

Crosshire is an AI-assisted decision-support service that produces a written Summary comparing a CV to a job description. It is built to help you triage matches quickly — instantly, where possible — and decide whether the pairing is worth a conversation. The Summary is generated by large language models and is advisory only. It is not a hiring decision, a job offer, an endorsement, or professional career advice; the final call on shortlisting, applying or rejecting always rests with you. By using Crosshire you acknowledge that outputs are probabilistic and may contain errors.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Crosshire. By using the service you represent that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.

3. Account & free use

Crosshire is currently offered free of charge to signed-in users, and a single Try Me Summary is available without an account using only the email address you provide. We may introduce paid plans in the future. We reserve the right at any time, with reasonable notice, to: (a) launch paid tiers (Pro / Team / Recruiter); (b) move features that are free today into a paid tier; (c) reduce, cap, or otherwise change the free-tier quota (per-day scoring limits, parsing limits, number of stored CVs, public profile features, etc.); (d) change pricing, availability, or geographic scope. Reasonable notice means at least 14 days for material changes communicated by email to your account email and a banner on the site. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

4. Your content — JDs and CVs

You retain all rights in the CV, job description, and any other content you submit ("Your Content"). You grant Crosshire a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process Your Content solely for the purpose of generating and delivering your Summary, operating the service, and improving its quality through anonymized aggregations. You represent that you have the right to submit Your Content and that doing so does not violate any third party's rights or any applicable law.

When you paste a job description or upload a CV, the content remains yours. By submitting, you confirm you have the right to use it for screening purposes (e.g. you wrote it, your employer wrote it and you are authorised to use it, or it is publicly listed). Crosshire has no relationship with any company whose job description you submit, and submission to Crosshire creates no relationship between you and that company. We do not contact, notify, monitor, or share your submission with the company that authored the JD, with any job board it was originally listed on, or with any recruiter who is not a Crosshire-account holder you explicitly invite.

5. AI output

Summaries are produced by AI and are probabilistic. They may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or reflect biases present in the underlying models. Crosshire makes no warranty that any output is accurate, complete, current, or fit for a particular purpose. Do not rely on a Summary as the sole basis for a hiring, application, or career decision; always apply your own judgement and, where appropriate, professional advice.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit content you do not have the legal right to submit.
  • Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, infringing, or contains malware.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from Crosshire.
  • Use Crosshire to make automated decisions about other people without their informed consent and without applying meaningful human review.
  • Interfere with the service's integrity, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or use it to send spam or unsolicited communications.
  • Resell or redistribute Summaries as a stand-alone product.

7. Intellectual property

The Crosshire name, logo, website, and underlying software are owned by Darshan Singh and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership in Crosshire to you. Outputs (Summaries) generated for you may be used by you for your personal job-search or recruitment purposes.

8. Service availability

Crosshire is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may suspend or modify any part of the service at any time, with or without notice, including for maintenance, security, or upstream provider outages.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Crosshire and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or, where the service was provided free of charge, EUR 50. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Termination

You may stop using Crosshire at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the service if you breach these Terms, abuse the service, or where we are required to do so by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, limitation of liability, governing law) will continue to apply.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union member state in which the operator is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes arising under these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of that member state, except where mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence give you the right to bring proceedings locally.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of Crosshire after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Data processing — recruiter accounts

If you use Crosshire as a recruiter or hiring manager and upload CVs of candidates other than yourself, you are the data controller for those candidates' personal data and Crosshire acts as your processor under EU GDPR Article 28. By uploading you warrant that:

  • You have a lawful basis (candidate consent, or a documented legitimate interest with a balancing test) to upload each CV.
  • You have informed — or will inform — the candidate per Article 14 that their data has been provided to Crosshire for the purpose of AI-assisted screening, including the categories of data, the purpose, the retention period, and their rights.
  • You will not upload CVs of candidates who have objected to such processing, and you will surface deletion or rectification requests promptly to Crosshire.

Crosshire processes candidate CVs only on your documented instructions, in line with the purpose described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use uploaded candidate CVs to make decisions about those candidates — outputs are produced for you, the controller, and remain advisory under §5 above. The sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy (Anthropic, Google, Google Cloud, Infomaniak, Plausible) are engaged on your behalf under back-to-back data-processing terms; we will notify recruiter accounts of any material change to that list. On termination of your account, candidate CVs you uploaded are deleted within 30 days unless retention is required by law.

EU AI Act note: where the EU AI Act applies (from August 2026), the recruiter using Crosshire to support hiring decisions is the "deployer" of any high-risk AI system under Annex III point 4 of the Act. Crosshire is a decision-support tool; ultimate accountability for human oversight, transparency to candidates, and any contestability mechanism rests with you as the deployer.
